Stockholm Toy Museum, previously known as Bergrummet, is a fun and fascinating museum, suitable for the whole family. With over 40,000 toys and comics, spread out over 2500 square meters, it’s the largest collection of its kind in Northern Europe.
Discover a huge collection of action figures, dolls, tin figures, comic books, original sketches and much more. Stockholm Toy Museum opened in September of 2017 (then by the name Bergrummet) and was previously housed at Tidö Castle since 1974. Other than the permanent exhibit, a number of temporary exhibits are shown throughout the year.
Highlights
- See dolls from the 15th century, a Volvo split in half and original Marvel Comic drawings among a treasure chest of other toys and incredible sights.
- Little ones will enjoy the museum’s designated play areas.
- Take a pit stop at the café and shop for refreshments and souvenirs of your visit.
Famous Horses – now until March 15
Meet a number of horses from the worlds of toys and comics. Visitors will learn about the history of nostalgic childhood favourites such as the rocking horse, hobby horse and My Little Pony. Guests will also learn more about brave adventures of a woman called Linde Klinckowström von Rosen: a woman who rode on her horse Castor from Stockholm to Paris and Rome during the 1920s.
Why not try the popular sport of Hobby Horse Jumping yourself in the magical tunnels and maybe even go for a Hobby Horse ride through the museum?
